- Cilantro's pungent leaves are used fresh in Pico De Gallo and salsa. The seeds are used whole in making sausage and are ground to make curry.

- Serrano is a hot chile that originated in the mountainous regions of the Mexican states of Puebla and Hidalgo. The pods measure between 2 and 2.5 inches long by 0.375 to 0.5 inches wide. The medium thick flesh pods turn from green to red as they mature and can be eaten at any stage of maturity.
